An inspiration for life. Randy Pausch (October 23, 1960 – July 25, 2008)
I blogged about 2 videos that Prof Randy Pausch did a while ago, and in terms of concise useful content, it is really the tops!
Earlier in the day, I've heard that Randy Pausch has passed away due to his cancer. For one, he is still living in his videos and speeches and the memories of his students. Inspiring many more.
Just a repost of the videos for remembrance.
The theory of love?
Read over at VioletLim about this theory of love by a Robert Sternberg. Looks like it's a book for me to read sometime.
According to him, for a relationship to last, and to grow with time… the couple must experience 3 things:
Passion, Intimacy and Commitment.
Life is unfair? Are you using all that's given to you?
Man.... Just watch the video first.
A fighting spirit

HILLSBORO - What would others think of his son? Would Dustin be able to do anything for himself? What would he amount to?
A simple lesson on economics, capitalism, taxes, the government, and you!
Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100.
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh $7.
The eighth $12.
The ninth $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do.
Building intimacy in a relationship
I read this article on how to build intimacy by ThinkSimpleNow, and I thought it was really true! Nowadays, everybody's so caught up in their busy schedule that they seldom actually connect with other people. And even if they do, there is usually this phase of superficiality before they talk about deeper, more intimate matters.
Is Singapore really growing or are we all just bluffing ourselves?
Robo Chan came home happy. "I just got a pay rise," he told his live-in partner, Anita Hiew.
They went out to celebrate, only to find that food and drink prices have gone up. And then she broke the other piece of happy news to him: "Eh, our 4th child is on the way."
Do Singaporeans actually have childhood dreams?
I recently read on someone's blog about this very inspiring and light hearted video, about a 47 year old professor , Randy Pausch, at Carnegie Mellon University, who's dying of pancreatic cancer, yet still very high spirited.
